- Journey past the notable Enchanted Rock State Natural Area by taking Route 965, heading towards Llano, Texas. It is a great expedition that will lead you past the enormous pink granite dome known as Enchanted Rock, a magical rock formation that has attracted locals and visitors alike for years.
- Head out on Route 16 towards Willow City, Texas. You will be able to see the scenic Willow City Loop, a 13-mile stretch of Hill Country, where you’ll be able to spy on several gorgeous creeks, hills, valleys, meadows, and other natural wonders. Folks have called it one of the most beautiful drives in all of Texas.
- Venture out to the Old Tunnel State Park, an old abandoned railroad tunnel home to over three million Mexican free-tailed bats and three thousand cave myotis bats. If you can make it before the end of October, you’ll be able to see the wondrous nightly sight of the bats emerging from the tunnel. Head down Route 290 and then turn down Old San Antonio Road until you reach the park.
- Explore the Gruene-Fredericksburg-Bandera Loop and visit sights between these three fantastic Texas Hill Country cities.
