Christmas Nights of Lights at Marktplatz

Every night from Thanksgiving week through the first week of January, people gather on Marktplatz in Fredericksburg, TX, for Christmas Nights of Lights. Holiday music starts at 5 p.m., and at 6 p.m. a 10-minute audio presentation on the town’s German heritage ends with a countdown to lighting two showpieces:

  • The German Christmas Pyramid: Hand-crafted in Germany in 2009 for Fredericksburg, this 26-foot wooden pyramid turns with tiers of moving wooden figures.
  • The Community Christmas Tree: The 30-foot tree wears hand-crafted ornaments donated by Hill Country artisans.

Arrive early to skate a few laps at Eisbahn, an enchanting outdoor ice rink, right on Marktplatz.
